Immunization Nurse Coordinator

Position Description

The Visiting Nurse Association is currently seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated RN who enjoys working with the public providing immunizations for ages 6 months and older.
This exciting opportunity offers you part-time hours that will allow you to provide quality care to the community. This individual MUST be available during all scheduled vaccine clinics. Clinics are scheduled in advance during day, evenings, and weekends.

Typical duties include:
• Functioning independently with minimal supervision.
• Working independently at workplace, community and school clinic sites by providing influenza immunizations to ages 6 months and older.
• Providing multiple immunizations at employee school clinic sites such as influenza, tdap and hepatitis.
• Obtaining accurate insurance information and/or payment.
• Screens client for age appropriateness and contraindications for each immunization.
• Guiding, coaching and is a resource for the immunization nurse team
• Speaking to media on behalf of VNA immunization clinics
• Support Immunization Program Coordinator, assist with scheduling, orientation and preparing for upcoming Flu Season (ordering vaccines)
• Keep current on vaccine duties
• Complete competencies
• Assist with management of Nursing team
• Assist with hiring flu Nurses

Requirements
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Active Nebraska or other RN licensure in a compact state
• Current Certified Basic Life Support
• Completed Hepatitis B Series – And COVID Vaccination
• Experience giving immunizations to ages 6 months and older preferred but not required
• Valid Driver’s license and Auto Insurance Coverage
• Must have your own reliable transportation
